Ash Way Light Rail Station Community Survey

Sound Transit is considering two locations for the future Ash Way light rail station: ASH-A — west side of I-5, ASH-D — east side of I-5

Before selecting a station location, we believe the public should have a clear, detailed, side-by-side comparison showing how each option would affect traffic, transit access, and the surrounding community.

Snohomish County's adopted transportation plans include a future I-5 overcrossing connecting the Ash Way area to Meadow Road, along with other future transit and roadway improvements.

Our Question to Sound Transit

Has Sound Transit fully considered Snohomish County's planned future transportation improvements when comparing ASH-A and ASH-D?

We are asking Sound Transit to publicly show how both station alternatives would work with the County's future transportation system, including:

  • Bus routes and travel times

  • Traffic congestion and intersection delays

  • Vehicle access to and from the station

  • Parking for future light rail users

  • Access to neighborhoods, businesses and community facilities

  • Property acquisition and displacement

  • Impacts at 164th Street, 14th Street, Motor Place and surrounding intersections

  • Construction and infrastructure costs comparisons

  • Pedestrian and bicycle access and safety if the rail is on the Eastside

Before a final Ash Way station location is selected, we ask Sound Transit to provide the public with this side-by-side comparison so residents and future transit users can understand the impacts and differences between ASH-A and ASH-D.
